Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Global Logistics Coordinator to support the planning, execution, and successful delivery of international and domestic shipments for clean energy projects from its South Windsor, CT location. This individual will coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities, manage freight forwarders and transportation providers, and ensure shipments are delivered safely, compliantly, and on schedule. The role involves arranging complex international shipments, primarily to and from countries such as South Korea and Thailand, while tracking cargo through every stage of the logistics process. The Global Logistics Coordinator will compare shipping bids, negotiate rates, manage customs documentation, obtain clearances, and communicate shipment updates to internal stakeholders and customers. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will build strong vendor relationships while continuously identifying opportunities to improve service levels and reduce overall transportation costs. This role works closely with procurement, planning, installation, and other cross-functional teams to ensure logistics requirements are met for large-scale power generation equipment. Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchasing, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of logistics experience managing import/export shipments.
- Experience working directly with freight forwarders, carriers, and shipping providers.
- International shipping experience, including customs and transportation documentation.
- Strong negotiation skills with freight forwarders, carriers, or logistics vendors.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience shipping HAZMAT materials.
- Experience handling oversized or heavy industrial cargo.
- Background supporting international shipments to or from Asia, particularly South Korea.
- Experience coordinating logistics for large equipment, manufacturing, energy, or power generation industries.
- Proven track record of identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving logistics processes.
