Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Laboratory Technician for an aerospace manufacturing company based in East Hartford, CT. This individual will support the Polymer Materials Group by performing hands-on testing, fabrication, and laboratory activities related to non-metallic materials used across aerospace applications. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys working with tools and equipment, and has experience performing laboratory, manufacturing, automotive, or fabrication-related work.
This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, building, testing, and working in a hands-on environment where standard testing methods may be supplemented by custom solutions and creative problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory testing and evaluation of materials and components.
- Support mechanical testing, fabrication, and sample preparation activities.
- Operate laboratory equipment, tools, and machinery safely and effectively.
- Assist with custom test setups and non-standard testing activities as required.
- Document test results and maintain accurate laboratory records.
- Support paint spraying, coating applications, and related material processing activities.
- Collaborate with engineers and technical teams to execute testing plans and investigations.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
- Assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts related to materials testing and development.

Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, automotive, fabrication, testing, or related technical environment.
- Associate's degree in STEM background.
- Experience with laboratory testing and materials characterization.
- Experience performing mechanical testing, fabrication, assembly, or similar hands-on technical work.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with paint spraying, coatings, or material processing.
- Ability to follow technical procedures and document results accurately.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
