Job Description

A client of Insight Global is a well-established, stable manufacturing organization, seeking a Maintenance Team Lead to oversee maintenance operations at its New Haven, Connecticut facility. This individual will lead hands-on maintenance efforts while directly supervising one Maintenance Mechanic and will be groomed for advancement into a Maintenance Manager role as the facility and team continue to grow.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Lead daily maintenance operations at the New Haven facility, supervising and mentoring one Maintenance Mechanic
Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing and packaging equipment
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
Support, maintain, and troubleshoot automation and control systems; PLC involvement as applicable
Maintain and service packaging equipment, including systems utilizing Yaskawa and Hamer components
Maintain material handling equipment such as fluid bed dryers, screeners, and conveyor systems
Service and support heavy equipment, including CAT machinery and Toyota forklifts
Develop, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance (PM) programs to improve equipment reliability
Partner closely with production teams to minimize downtime and support operational efficiency
Track maintenance activities, repairs, and PM completion using maintenance logs or CMMS tools
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring all work complies with safety standards
Identify opportunities for process improvement, equipment upgrades, and long-term reliability initiatives
Prepare for future transition into a Maintenance Manager role by taking on increased planning, coordination, and leadership responsibilities

Required Skills & Experience

Experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance environments
Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Hands-on experience supporting automation systems, including Allen‑Bradley PLCs
Experience maintaining manufacturing and packaging equipment
Prior experience leading, mentoring, or training others
Experience developing and executing preventive maintenance programs
Strong ownership mentality with the ability to work independently
Safety-focused, reliable, and detail-oriented
Desire and capability to grow into a Maintenance Manager role
