Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Lab Technician to support engineers within a large aerospace coatings development group. This role is hands‑on and lab‑focused, assisting with metallography, sample preparation, equipment operation, and materials analysis to support high‑temperature coating evaluations. The technician will work closely with engineers on testing, documentation, and reporting activities while gaining exposure to aerospace materials, coatings, and laboratory best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

- Minimum 2‑year technical or science degree (or equivalent certificate program)
- 2+ years of hands‑on laboratory experience
- Experience with metallography and sample preparation
- Ability to operate lab equipment including:
- Optical microscopes
- Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM)
- Strong safety awareness and lab best‑practice skills
- Ability to document work clearly in MS Word or PowerPoint reports
- Willingness to work onsite 5 days per week

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Coatings or high‑temperature materials exposure
- Experience with basic materials testing, furnace or temperature testing preferred
- Experience working in metallurgical or materials labs
- Data analysis and reporting experience
- Willingness and ability to learn materials‑specific knowledge and new lab skills
-Prior experience supporting engineering teams in product development environments
