Job Description
The Release Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing software releases across multiple Agile and Waterfall teams, serving as the central point of contact for all release‑related activities. This role facilitates bi‑weekly intent meetings and monthly release meetings, owning agenda creation, stakeholder coordination, detailed note‑taking, and follow‑up management. The Release Engineer enforces release governance by ensuring UAT completion, documented signoffs, and overall release readiness. The RTE will ensure that CI/CD pipelines are secure, monitors and troubleshoots build and deployment issues, and validates environments across development, testing, staging, and production. Additionally, the Release Engineer manages dependencies, identifies risks and integration issues early, finalizes release lists and produces clear release notes and status communications. This position facilitates cross-team collaboration between development, QA, operations, and business stakeholders, ensuring dependencies are managed and resolved. Success in this role means that the ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, and the ability to track and report release health, deployment success rates, and readiness through dashboards and metrics.

Required Skills & Experience
• 10+ years of experience in Release Management in an Agile environment and ability to manage cross team dependencies, risks, and timelines
• Experience supporting IBM Maximo releases, upgrades and patch deployments
• Familiarity working with Devops teams and understanding of CI/CD pipelines to monitor the build and deployment, processes/troubleshoot failures as well as providing direction on how to modernize
• Experience managing releases across various different environments, and able to advise on how to best stand up and organize the teams/processes
• Excellent Communications skills
