Insight Global is looking for a Senior Data Engineer with deep Python expertise to design, build, and maintain data ingestion pipelines within a complex, multifaceted data platform for a 2 month contract, possible extensions. This role is highly hands‑on and engineering‑driven, with the majority of time spent writing Python code to support scalable, reliable data ingestion and incremental load processes.
The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of experience, writes Python and SQL from scratch, understands watermarking and incremental load design, and can independently reason through data platform challenges while collaborating effectively with a broader engineering team.
90% of their time will be spent doing Python coding and ingestion and other 10% working with the team
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain Python‑based data ingestion pipelines
• Implement and manage incremental data loads, including watermarking strategies
• Write and optimize SQL queries from scratch to support ingestion and transformation logic
• Work across complex data platforms, handling varying data structures and source systems
• Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance across ingestion workflows
• Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline failures and performance issues
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to align ingestion logic with platform requirements
Contribute to code quality through documentation, reviews, and best practices
