Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer II to support verification of advanced hardware and embedded firmware systems. This role develops automated tests, performs debugging, and ensures product reliability through structured test execution and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop automated and manual test cases for hardware and firmware validation
• Build and maintain automation frameworks and test tools
• Execute tests on embedded systems and analyze performance, functionality, and compliance
• Work with engineering teams to understand system design and identify test needs
• Debug firmware and hardware issues using diagnostic equipment
• Conduct hardware integration testing across PCBs, sensors, and communication interfaces
• Document test results, defects, and recommendations for improvement
• Partner with hardware, firmware, and project teams to support development and release processes
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and stay current with testing best practices

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Strong understanding of circuit design, AC/DC theory, and electronic component behavior
• Proficient in embedded firmware development (C/C++) and hardware integration
• Skilled with common electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators)
• Familiar with schematic capture tools, IDEs, and CAD software
• Hands‑on proficiency with electronic hardware and common hand tools
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across engineering disciplines
• Ability to interact professionally with vendors, manufacturers, and technical teams

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with test automation for embedded hardware/firmware
• Familiarity with debugging tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, protocol analyzers)
• Exposure to PCB manufacturing processes and electromechanical assemblies
• Background in hardware/firmware integration workflows
• Experience improving test processes, automation, or tooling
• Cross‑functional collaboration with hardware, firmware, manufacturing, or QA teams
