Job Description
A state executive agency is looking for a Content Accessibility Expert to lead a critical initiative ensuring all curriculum and related materials meet ADA accessibility standards and WCAG to comply with new state requirements for online curriculum posting by July 2026. This role involves auditing and remediating approximately 50 large documents—including multiple 130-page handbooks—across 31 trade programs and academic areas currently stored in multiple formats (PDF, Word, Excel, Google Docs). The expert will standardize all curriculum using superintendent-approved templates, ensuring consistency and accessibility across platforms. Responsibilities include collaborating with leadership to align on formatting standards, converting existing content into ADA-compliant formats, and implementing accessibility best practices. The position also includes providing light training to staff on template usage and accessibility guidelines, ensuring sustainable compliance moving forward.

Required Skills & Experience
• Expertise in ADA compliance and WCAG standards for digital content accessibility, including document remediation.
• Proficiency with accessibility tools and techniques for PDFs, Word, Excel, and Google Docs (e.g., tagging, alt text, screen reader compatibility).
• Experience in curriculum content management and template standardization across multiple academic and vocational programs.
• Project management skills to handle large-scale document remediation and meet strict compliance deadlines.
• Ability to train and support staff on accessibility practices without requiring deep technical knowledge.
