Job Description

A large manufacturing client is seeking a hands-on, strategic Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance operations at their 1.1 million sq. ft. Regional Distribution Center in Plainfield, CT. This role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability, facility excellence, and team development in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The Maintenance Manager will oversee a team of 3 supervisors and 15 associates, manage capital improvement projects, and collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and quality teams to support business goals.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the maintenance team, ensuring accountability and high performance

Oversee all facility maintenance and preventive programs

Manage capital projects and infrastructure upgrades (e.g., truck yard resurfacing, training area buildout)

Coordinate contractor activities and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards

Maintain high facility standards for cleanliness, safety, and visual excellence

Support cross-functional teams including operations, QA, planning, and administration

Own budget and vendor relationships for maintenance operations

Ensure efficient operation of all building systems with minimal downtime

Required Skills & Experience

Proven leadership experience managing salaried and hourly maintenance teams in high-volume distribution or manufacturing environments

Strong technical knowledge of automation systems, conveyors, HVAC, dock doors, and electrical systems

Experience with CMMS platforms and preventive maintenance programs

Demonstrated success in safety, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives

Ability to lead through metrics and collaborate cross-functionally

Willingness to work on-site in Plainfield, CT

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency is a strong plus
