Job Description
Travel to assigned sites (approx. 400 statewide) to install and prepare network equipment.
Perform “rack and stack” work, including: transporting and unloading equipment, mounting equipment in racks, connecting, securing, and labeling power and network cables, installing fiber optic cables and using fiber optic cleaning tools.
Support basic console access with a laptop for equipment configuration when needed.
Prepare sites for cutovers that will be remotely managed by other network engineers.
Maintain accurate documentation of installed equipment and connections.
Label and compile decommissioned equipment that has been removed to transport to central location

Required Skills & Experience
Prior work in data centers or field environments performing hardware installation, cable management, and equipment racking (rack and stack).
Familiarity with basic console access to networking equipment via laptop.
Ability to work independently in the field while coordinating with a larger migration team.
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and climb ladders safely to access equipment.
Must successfully complete an FBI background check and CJIS security training.
Valid driver’s license required.

State vehicle and tools will be provided.
This is a 6-month engagement with the possibility of extension depending on project needs.
