Insight Global is looking for a GIS/CAD operator to sit fully on site in Shelton, Connecticut. This individual will provide management of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS), and support pipeline design projects by the engineering department and other functional groups in the company. This individual is also responsible to provide project leadership for gas transmission mapping, and for management of archived pipeline data (drawings and construction records) within the company's GIS system and drawing archive. They will also be responsible for setting CAD / drafting standards, giving direction on drawing creation by outside consulting firms, and creating, updating , and checking of engineering drawings generated within IGTS. In addition, be responsible for the documentation process for both the physical and electronic CAD/Drafting files, including naming conventions, revision control etc.

- 3+ Years of experience in an engineering, utility or project management environment
- 3+ Years of designing CAD / Drafting experience as well as computer aided drafting systems
- 2+ years of experience in cartography and GIS concepts, capabilities and its usage in gas transformation industry
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, GIS or equivalent experience in architectural, mechanical, electrical and mapping/drafting fields
- Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of mapping linear assets
Practical design knowledge of high pressure natural gas piping facilities
