Insight Global has an immediate need for an installation technician to support the Machine Guarding in our Plainville, Connecticut Office. The primary role of the technician will be to support and conduct field installations and design activities for machine/safety guarding such as a plexiglass shield, pressure plate for a rotating saw, or installing covers for dangerous machinery. The technician will be tasked with fabrication and mounting of safeguard on industrial manufacturing machines. A typical machine guarding project will include understanding of the existing machine operations and integration of new safety controls. This position will require hands on work with fabrication and in field installations for complex systems and components. Manual dexterity, good technical skills and hands on ability are of the upmost importance for success in this role and will be required to fill this position. The ability to read instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics etc. is preferred but, training will be part of this position.

- 2+ years of experience and HS diploma, Technical School or equivalent
- Fundamental skills with using powered tools (cordless tools, bandsaw, etc.) for:
Cutting of metal, plastic, and fiberglass materials
Drilling/tapping straight holes
Making straight cuts
Concrete hammer drilling
- Ability to work from drawings and schematic diagrams, read technical prints of some complexity, and use basic mathematics
- High level of professionalism
- Adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.
Physical strength and stamina to perform installation and maintenance tasks
Experience using precision measuring instruments and equipment to check machines and equipment for accuracy and condition. The right candidate will be self-driven, self-motivated, and have great communication skills both written and verbal.
