An employer is seeking a Data Entry Specialist to join their team remotely. This position is within the public health sector of a state department and is open because they need additional help with data cleanup and data entry within their primary infectious disease surveillance system. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a much higher amount of data being poured into this system than usual, and much quicker than usual. Because of this, they currently have duplicate records of a lot of the data within this surveillance system, as well as data stored in incorrect areas of the system. This Data Entry Specialist will be responsible for utilizing Excel to pull reports of various cases, and cross checking this data within the surveillance system for data clean up. They will also help with data entry and data assurance as needed in order to help clean up this web-based surveillance system overall. Since this is a public health department, we are looking for someone that has worked with healthcare data and understands the confidentiality and care needed. The ideal person for this role will be very meticulous with high attention to detail, and have strong communication skills.

2+ years of experience in a Data Entry/Data Cleanup position
Previous experience working with healthcare related data
Expertise with Microsoft Excel, ability to pull reports from Excel
High attention to detail resulting in meticulous data
Strong communication abilities to work with a fully remote team
Previously worked for a state department or agency
