An employer is seeking a System Administrator/Server Lead to join their team. This role will be primarily remote, however may require occasional travel to the central office in Hartford, CT or the data center in Groton, CT. This is open because the client is in need of a System Administrator/Server Lead to support the State Public Health Laboratory. They will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues, and interface with customers and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve problems. They will be responsible for providing network support and overall support for computer equipment across both sites. For desktop services, this person will be responsible for imagine and deployments, and will need to diagnose and resolve server and software issues. They will handle reconfigurations, new installations, and maintain network components. For network services, this resource will provide second and third level support for network connectivity and assist with diagnoses and resolution for any network problems. They will help configure network components, assist in executing on disaster recovery plans, and provide user support and spot training to users.

5+ years of experience as a System Administrator/Engineer, Network Administrator/Engineer, or related role
Experience with deployment and imagine of machines using Free Open Ghost (FOG) or related tool
Working knowledge of networking technologies including TCP/IP and DNS/DHCP
Working knowledge of routing and switching
Experience with wireless networks such as VPN, firewalls, and load balancers
Experience with virtualization support such as VMware, ESXi, Linux, and Windows
