Job Description

An employer based in Bristol, CT is looking for a Program Manager to work a hybrid schedule in Bristol. You will be expected to work on site 3 days a week. This role is a Technical Project/Program Management role acting as the Scrum lead. Must be able to run ceremonies, backlogs, refinement etc. You will be responsible for 2 backend agile teams consisting of about 10 engineers. You will be responsible for running the daily stand ups, leading the charge, sprint planning and retrospectives and removing impediments. You will be working with various teams and owning 1-2 projects at a given time leading multiple programs and projects. Your focus will be supporting the entitlements team working on backend APIS providing different level of access to all their products within the news and entertainment space. Looking to modernize API services, backend infrastructure that is powering these products.

Will be managing scrum teams- must be agile and will be running sprint ceremonies, planning, grooming , retros, etd.

This team supports backend Sports- ESPN digital groups for Fantasy Game Platforms- apps/Websites/Tournament challenges those areas.

Required Skills & Experience

- At least 5 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager/Scrum Master leading individual agile teams working directly with engineers

- leading multiple teams and multiple projects and large programs within multiple tracks of work

- Background in media entertainment

- Technical experience- must have worked as PM in the technical spaces such as websites/APIs/ Mobile Apps for example.

- Led Migration of any systems

- Experience supporting backend teams/ APIs

- Experience using Jira and Confluence

- Accountable for driving execution and delivery of multiple technical product or software development projects from start to finish.

- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification required. Agile certifications such as PMI-ACP, CSP, or SA are recommended.

- Experience working as part of a larger PMO to deliver complex solutions, working through an agile process to call out issues, remove impediments, and manage risk.

- Experience managing expectations, negotiating compromises, and interfacing between a technical team and business partners.

- Develops and manages project plans comprised of complex activities and dependencies.

- Communicates status, updates and project summaries via presentations, e-mail and direct communication with key stakeholders and leadership.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Supporting mobile projects

- CSM / CSP Certification preferred

- Experience in streaming media software and digital technology

- Experience with backend systems, machine learning, and personalization

- Technical proficiency, ex. coding skills, quality assurance experience or technical writing background

- PM tools- Jira/confluence

- Airtable experience
