Job Description

Insight Global is seeking out a Postproduction Engineer to sit hybrid in Monroe, CT with flexibly with going on-site depending on the volume of work/season. This person will be joining the Engineering and Technology division of a large sports media company. They will be supporting domestic remote LIVE productions as well as LIVE international events. This engineer will be responsible for building, designing, configuring, and maintaining system kits for preparation and systems during live production events. These kits range in size/complexity based on the specific property that will be utilizing it. An example of an average kit will be an IT VPN allowing connections to servers, houses various softwares, etc. A larger kit will include infrastructure storage, file transfers, etc. On the day to day, this person is going to be very hands within the warehouse - organizing, ordering, and managing the inventory of all kits, prepping kits before being sent out, checking/assessing all kits that are returned, etc. 25% of their day is going to be spent managing all kits, handling/tracking inventory, configuration, maintenance, etc. 25% will be spent deploying and managing systems on remote events including servers, storage, networks, archive systems, and applications to support the media preparation and delivery needs as well as upgrade and patch systems as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution. 25% spent designing infrastructure solutions to match business needs -- apply best design practices to meet project goals, translate project scope from client into efficient engineering solution and research and evaluate new and/or alternative solutions and technologies to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs. The remaining 25% will be spent providing documentation of systems and support procedures to be utilized by the larger engineering, production, and operations teams at the facility. This individual needs to have strong interpersonal skills as they will be proactively communicating with vendors, clients, and other engineering teams to resolve system issues and drive future development. This engineer is required to have solid handson, problemsolving skills with broadcastrelated equipment and systems with the ability to work calmly within a high pressure LIVE onair environment with a proven customer focus. This individual must be flexible with working overtime, weekends, early mornings/late nights, comfortable with travel once acclimated as well as traveling to Stamford, CT when needed.

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of experience in a LIVE television broadcast environment - proficient in softwaredriven broadcast video equipment

Proficient with post and broadcast production systems and software including Avid (EVS is a big Plus), Adobe, Accelerated file transfer technology, and bonded cellular technology.

Advanced computer/IT skills, including thorough understanding of networking, subnets, and IP configuration.

Solid understanding of TCP/IP networks and other data communication technologies (ex. satellite communications, networking communications, telecommunications)

Experience with post and broadcast systems including nonlinear editing software and hardware, Analog/Digital Audio and Video Systems.

STRONG interpersonal and communication skills as they will be working with various internal stakeholders and external clients and vendors.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Knowledge of IP routing and switches

Knowledge and understanding of filebased workflows, including knowledge of video codecs, audio codecs, transcoding, file movement, etc.

Exposure to AWS or cloud storage platforms

Basic AutoCAD functionality, including creating, redefining, and plotting documentation.
