Job Description

An employer is seeking an IT Digital Evidence Project Manager to join their team. This is primarily a remote position, however will require periodic travel to various state police agencies across the state of Connecticut. This is open because the team needs a dedicated Project Managed to aid in the research phase for this Digital Evidence study. The goal of this project is to expand and protect digital evidence within the law enforcement community across the state. They will be a part of a team focusing on research, analysis, vendor management, and ultimately creating a written proposal with recommendations for future state, budget, schedule, etc. for the management of the future of digital evidence within the law enforcement community. As the IT Project Manager, this person will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle to ensure the successful execution of the overall project. This IT Digital Evidence PM will collaborate with stakeholders from police departments, the Division of Criminal Justice, the Department of Correction, the Judicial Branch, and the state police to understand their "current state" of body and vehicle cameras used, vendors, and storage, and work with the team to document these details. The goal is to identify the "future state" of body and vehicle cameras to be used, stored, and retrieved quickly. The goal is to identify the best system and vendors to use, as well as optimum storage and seamless integration for this specific digital evidence. They will help to design the technical framework for the digital evidence study project overall within the law enforcement community while staying within the allocated budget. This resource will develop and communicate project management guidelines, best practices, and standards to the project team to ensure a cohesive and well managed project.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager

Previous experience within law enforcement and/or understanding of digital forensics within criminal justice digital evidence

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Bachelor's Degree or higher

Experience managing projects that utilize technologies such as SharePoint, IBM Content Manager/FileNet, MuleSoft, webMethods, Dell Boomi, Apache Kafka, or related technologies
