Job Description

A non-profit client of Insight Global located in Hartford, CT is looking to hire a Grant Writer/Coordinator to join the team. This Grant Writer/Coordinator, under the direction of the Finance Manager, will identify funding opportunities and write proposals, prepare supporting documentation and reports to meet grant guidelines as well as oversee the composition of the grant application. The Grant Writer/Coordinator will also identify any funding from federal, state, and private (foundation, corporate, etc...) partners and foster organizational relationships with these partners for future funding opportunities. The environment is employee centric and collaborative which will require this person to be able to work effectively independently, collaborate with others, take charge, and be detailed-oriented in their work. Additional Duties & Responsibilities Include:

* Identify resources both internal to the organization and external, to support the grant proposal development process.

* Obtain a clear understanding of the services and programs that comprise the organization and consider funding opportunities that fit within the vision, mission, and scope of the organization.

* Dedicate time to the identification of funding opportunities and preparation of grant proposals relating to requests for funding proposals (RFPs) from federal, state, and other entities.

* Collaborate with senior leadership and other members of the management team to review funding opportunities, initiate, and complete proposals.

* Timely, accurate, succinct, and highly detailed proposal submissions.

* Perform independent background research on subject matter pertaining to the grant proposal including regional, state, and national evidence-based practices and strategies.

* Handle the coordination of the proposal writing process from inception to submission.

* Be knowledgeable of Intercommunity, Inc. strategic priorities.

* Understand sources of data both internally available as well as regionally, statewide, and nationally.

* Develop grant schedule with associated proposal and reporting timelines.

* Ensure strict adherence to grant proposals and reporting deadlines.

* Develop grant application log and database to track grant submissions.

* Attend all mandatory department/agency meetings and trainings.

Required Skills & Experience

- 3+ years of hands-on grant writing experience.

- Experienced in developing non-profit programs.

- Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential business information and operate within those situations effectively.

- Hands on experience with RFPs

- Solution-oriented and detailed in their work with the ability to notice problems, propose solutions, and help execute quickly.

- Excellent organizational, verbal, and communication skills; communicates openly and effectively with the core team; facilitates multi-directional information flow.

- Possess the ability to work independently as well as takes initiative.

- Tech savvy with MS Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
