Job Description
Responsibilities
* This position will be responsible for performing the engineering and consulting services
* Main responsibilities include working with the team to create electrical, instrumentation and controls components of Generating stations and its ancillary equipment.
* Projects range in size and complexity from small utility generating station upgrades to large turnkey power plant construction.
* Position may include full or partial responsibility for the following Electrical tasks
Minimum Requirements
* Minimum of 7 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience)
* Prior experience of working independently and ability to complete tasks without much supervision.
* Able to develop of AC and DC power Systems, one-line schematic diagrams, wiring drawings, electrical classification drawings, grounding drawings and lighting plans
* Experience in reading and troubleshooting DC and AC control circuits by reading drawing schematics
* Experience with creating termination drawings from electrical and DCS/instrumentation drawings and implementation of electrical and controls (DCS) interlocks
* Able to perform basic electrical calculations such as short circuit, cable sizing, voltage drop, conduit sizing and fill, others.
* Design, and specify electrical equipment including LV Switchgear,3.3kV, 15kV gear, and GIS (275-400kV)
* Perform load flow short circuit, arc flash and protective relay calculations and settings. Ability to use engineering software such as on ETAP, CAPE, ASPEN, and/or SKM; easypower.
* Experience with SEL/Beckwith and/or Basler protection relays for Generator, transformer and transmission lines.
* Experience with on-field instruments such switches, transmitters gauges associated with pressure, temperature, level etc
* Experience with interfacing electrical system with DCS system. Ability to design plant process logics.
* Experience in the electrical, instrumentation, and control engineering for pipeline facilities such as natural gas metering and power stations
* Advanced knowledge of industrial standards and codes such as AGA, API, PIP ISO, NFPA, NEC, IEEE, IEC
* Prior experience of working independently and ability to complete tasks without much supervision.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment
* Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from ABET accredited program.
