Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Risk Management Technology, the Database Developer will drive the design and delivery of a data platform to support of the Risk Management Technology portfolio.

Essential Functions:

- The primary responsibility of the Database Developer within Risk Management Technology is to provide database and SQL solutioning to the delivery team in the buildout of a new technology platform to support the Financial Crimes organization.

- Initially, the database will be a SQL Server, on-premise database.

- Eventually, the database will reside on Google's Cloud Platform (GCP).



This role will include both Project and Maintenance work. This individual will engage primarily with technical delivery teams, including application developers, technical analysts, architects, QA, Project Managers, program management, and business partners.

Required Skills & Experience

1) 8+ years of hands-on experience creating, administering, and troubleshooting large databases

2) 2+ years of experience of designing scalable data technical solutions within medium to large/complex projects with multiple dependencies using Agile processes in planning, implementation.

3) Demonstrated track record of making technical decisions at the application level (vendor/technology, solution design, assessing tradeoffs).

4) Experience designing and developing relational databases in Oracle and SQL Server

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

1. Experience designing and developing within cloud-based SaaS solutions strongly preferred.

2. Experience with Data Warehousing specifically with Big Query (GCP)

2. Strong technology affinity and experience, as well as attention to detail, coupled with the ability to design and execute aligned to strategic goals.

3. Good knowledge of the Atlassian suite of products - Confluence & Jira.

4. Good knowledge of NoSQL databases.

5. Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.

6. Ability to work independently as a contributing member in a high-paced and focused team.

7. Good verbal and written communication skills.

8. Ability to thrive in a flexible and fast-paced environment across multiple time zones and locations
