Job Description

The Manager, Network Engineering (L2/L3) is responsible for leading the design, engineering, and delivery of Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructure supporting large-scale data center and mission-critical facilities. This role oversees the development of campus LAN environments, EVPN/VXLAN fabrics, routing and switching architecture, network security, WAN connectivity, wireless networks, and operational technology (OT) networking environments. The position is accountable for establishing network standards, technical governance, security policies, and commissioning requirements from initial design through operational turnover.

As a player-coach leader, this individual manages a team of network engineering specialists while partnering closely with engineering, construction, operations, and vendor teams to ensure network infrastructure is delivered on schedule, meets performance and security requirements, and supports multiple concurrent campus developments. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Required Skills & Experience

-10+ years of network engineering experience focused on routing, switching, network security, and infrastructure delivery within data center, colocation, or mission-critical environments.
-3+ years of experience leading and developing technical teams while managing vendors, integrators, and complex infrastructure projects.
-Deep expertise in Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, including VLANs, VRFs, IP addressing, route policies, OSPF, BGP, and other dynamic routing protocols.
-Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting EVPN/VXLAN leaf-spine network architectures.
-Strong background in network security, including firewalls, segmentation, micro-segmentation, secure remote access, and site-to-site VPNs.
-Experience supporting operational technology (OT) networks and industrial systems such as BMS, SCADA, DCIM, access control, or similar critical infrastructure platforms.
-Experience developing network standards, design documentation, monitoring strategies, configuration baselines, and operational handoff processes.
-Strong communication, stakeholder management, and vendor coordination skills with proficiency in network design and documentation tools.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Experience designing and delivering network infrastructure for large-scale data center, hyperscale, cloud, or mission-critical facility environments.
-Familiarity with Arista networking platforms, CloudVision, or similar network management and automation tools.
-Experience with OT network segmentation frameworks and industrial cybersecurity best practices.
-Knowledge of SD-WAN, carrier connectivity, direct internet access (DIA), dark fiber, and network transport architectures.
-Experience with network automation, infrastructure-as-code, scripting, or configuration management platforms such as Ansible, Python, or Git.
-Familiarity with wireless networking technologies, mesh Wi-Fi, and private 5G network deployments.
-Professional certifications such as CCNP, network security certifications, OT/ICS certifications, PMP, or wireless networking certifications.
-Experience establishing engineering standards, QA/QC programs, commissioning processes, and operational turnover procedures within fast-growing organizations.
