Field Engineer II - Structured Cabling

Insight Global is seeking a Field Engineer II in Englewood, CO. This position serves as a critical link between preconstruction, project management, and field operations, helping ensure projects are properly planned, documented, and executed before work reaches the field.

Unlike a traditional field-based engineering role, this position is primarily office-based and focused on project coordination, documentation, drawing reviews, QA/QC support, project planning, and operational execution. The Field Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Scheduling, QA/QC, and Documentation teams to support successful project delivery from project kickoff through closeout.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong structured cabling or low-voltage background who is interested in expanding into project leadership and eventually growing into higher-level operational or project management roles within a rapidly growing national organization.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Partner with Project Managers to support project planning, execution, and successful delivery.
• Serve as a liaison between Operations, Scheduling, QA/QC, Documentation Control, and Field Leadership teams.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation to identify gaps, conflicts, and potential issues before field execution.
• Support preconstruction project handoffs and help ensure projects are fully prepared for deployment.
• Assist with project scheduling, reporting, planning, documentation management, and execution tracking.
• Generate and maintain project documentation, submittals, RFIs, closeout packages, and as-built documentation.
• Review and upload testing results while ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality requirements.
• Work alongside site QA/QC teams to ensure installation standards and best practices are being followed.
• Analyze project performance data, daily reports, and labor trends with project leadership teams.
• Conduct field verification, room measurements, and drawing validation to support accurate as-built documentation.
• Assist in developing, tracking, and resolving RFIs while maintaining project documentation archives.
• Support project closeout activities and customer turnover processes.
Provide technical support and guidance to Superintendents and field teams when needed.

• 3-5+ years of experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, low-voltage systems, or related construction environments.
• Strong understanding of structured cabling infrastructure, voice/data systems, fiber optics, and low-voltage construction projects.
• Experience reviewing construction drawings, prints, specifications, and project documentation.
• Experience supporting project coordination, documentation, submittals, RFIs, or project administration functions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Experience working with Bluebeam software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Project.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical teams, project leadership, and customers.
Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Experience supporting Project Managers on commercial construction or low-voltage projects.
• Exposure to QA/QC processes and testing documentation.
• CAD, documentation control, or project closeout experience.
Experience with large-scale commercial, industrial, or data center projects.
