Job Description

A growing MEP consulting engineering firm is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Analyst to join its team supporting commercial, federal, healthcare, and industrial projects. This is a highly visible role working directly with clients, project managers, and senior engineers, including a licensed Mechanical PE mentor who will help guide technical development and career growth.
This position is open due to continued project growth and offers significant exposure to all phases of mechanical system design, client interaction, and construction support. The ideal candidate will have a strong HVAC and plumbing design background and be comfortable traveling to project sites approximately one week per month throughout the region and across the country as needed. Travel includes construction observations, client meetings, field assessments, and project coordination.
Responsibilities include developing HVAC and plumbing system designs, air handler selection, ductwork layout and sizing, hydronic systems, heat exchangers, steam systems, domestic water systems, and storm drainage systems. This individual will prepare engineering calculations, technical documentation, drawings, and specifications while collaborating with multiple project stakeholders. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage client-facing interactions are highly valued.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
• Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC and Plumbing design
• Strong field, construction, commissioning, or hands-on technical experience
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately one week per month
• Experience with HVAC system design, ductwork, hydronic systems, pumps, and plumbing systems
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and mechanical design software
• Valid Driver's License

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Revit experience (highly preferred)
• Engineering Intern (EI/EIT) certification
• Experience supporting federal projects
• Healthcare or hospital project experience
• Energy modeling experience
• Previous project management responsibilities
• Experience working directly with clients and construction teams
• Additional years of HVAC/plumbing design experience beyond the minimum requirements
