Job Description

Insight Global is looking to hire a Specialized Wireless IV Engineer who will be responsible for supporting and optimizing a large-scale wireless network serving millions of subscribers and connected devices. This individual will leverage deep WiFi expertise, large-scale data analytics, and strong troubleshooting capabilities to proactively identify, investigate, and resolve network performance issues impacting customer experience. Compensation ranges from $70-$72/hr based on experience. This role will be 4 days a week onsite, one day remote, in Denver, CO.

Job Responsibilities:
• Monitor, assess, and optimize the performance and reliability of large-scale WiFi networks supporting millions of subscribers and devices.
• Perform network-wide health assessments using operational data, dashboards, and analytics tools to identify performance degradation, authentication issues, outages, and customer-impacting events.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes of network issues, including drops in subscriber traffic, authentication success rates, usage metrics, and access point performance.
• Troubleshoot network issues at both the macro level (network-wide trends) and micro level (individual access points, controllers, devices, and subscribers).
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Product, and Vendor teams to resolve service-impacting incidents and improve overall network performance.
• Support the development, testing, certification, and deployment of wireless technologies, including WiFi access points, gateways, controllers, routers, and related infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and recommendations to improve customer Quality of Experience (QoE), network scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and enhance reporting, monitoring, and analytics processes to improve visibility into network performance and subscriber behavior.
• Support evaluations of new wireless technologies and products, including WiFi 6, WiFi 6E, WiFi 7, LTE, and emerging wireless solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of experience supporting wireless technologies within a large ISP/MSO, telecommunications provider, or major wireless networking vendor.
• Strong operational experience with WiFi technologies, including WiFi 5, WiFi 6, WiFi 6E, and WiFi 7.
• Experience supporting large-scale customer-facing wireless networks and wireless infrastructure.
• Familiarity with LTE/4G technologies; 5G exposure preferred.
• Strong understanding of wireless gateways, routers, access points, controllers, routing, switching, authentication, and network security.
• Proven experience performing network assessments, troubleshooting complex wireless issues, and driving root-cause analysis.
• Advanced analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret large volumes of operational and network performance data.
• Experience using SQL-based databases and data analysis tools such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Alteryx, Splunk, Plume, Scope, or similar platforms.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience supporting public WiFi infrastructure
• Exposure to Mesh Networking, UWB, 802.11ad/ay, or other emerging wireless technologies
• Experience participating in RFPs, RFIs, vendor evaluations, and contract negotiations
