Job Description

In this position, you will be responsible for the testing and certification of Wi-Fi Access Points and controllers, leveraging over 7 years of hands-on experience in wireless networking. You will apply your deep theoretical and practical understanding of IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi 7) standards to ensure optimal performance and stability of wireless products within Charter’s network. Your role will involve designing and executing Wi-Fi test setups, developing comprehensive test cases and procedures, and utilizing advanced automation tools such as Spirent, Octobox, Keysight IxChariot, and OmniPeak for automation and analysis. You will troubleshoot complex Wi-Fi issues using protocol analyzers, packet sniffers, and Wi-Fi analyzers, performing root cause analysis across both over-the-air and backend network layers. Your expertise will extend to Wi-Fi controllers including Smart Zone, SCG, ZD, and WLC, with a strong grasp of CAPWAP and GRE tunneling. A solid understanding of WLAN security protocols—such as RADIUS, AAA, 802.1x/EAP, and PSK—is nice to have, but not required. Success in this role demands the ability to work independently and collaboratively, communicate effectively across teams, and demonstrate a strong motivation to learn and adapt to new technologies. The pay rate starts at $60/hr and ranges up depending on years of experience. We'd love to hear from you!
