Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Environmental Scientist to support a leading Engineering Client in the Front Range area. The primary duties of this position include a range of scientific, monitoring, and testing services for a variety of environmental projects at locations such as abandoned and operating mines, landfills, industrial facilities, power stations, and communities impacted by emerging contaminants (e.g. PFAS). This position requires a versatile professional that is eager to learn and values the opportunity for professional development through a variety of project assignments. Pay rate for this role is ranging from $39-$46 pending background and experience. In the role of Environmental Scientist/Geologist II, we'll count on you to:

· Be responsible for data collection, compilation and analysis for a variety of geology and/or hydrology-related projects.
· Complete geologic logging of borings and monitoring well drilling followed by conversion to electronic boring logs.
· Coordination with laboratories, data analysis, and reporting for groundwater sampling.
· Coordinate compliance sampling for municipal, power, water/wastewater, and industrial clients
· Assist with development of project planning, data analysis, and reporting deliverables.
· Assist with troubleshooting issues that may arise
· Communicate issues in a timely manner to team members and supervisor.
· Perform other related duties as necessary.
Work both independently on small projects and as part of larger project

Required Skills & Experience

· Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, Hydrogeology or closely related field.
· At least five years of professional experience as an environmental scientist, hydrogeologist, geologist or closely aligned profession. Advanced degrees (Master's or Ph.D.) in one of the above fields will substitute for one year of the required experience.
· Demonstrated experience with groundwater and surface water sampling.
· Demonstrated basic working skills with GIS, Microsoft Excel and Word.
· Strong technical writing skills.
Experience supporting remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and design activities

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

· Prior experience with Colorado and Federal environmental regulations.
· Prior geological/hydrogeological experience around Colorado is a plus.
· Prior experience with environmental compliance including development of monitoring plans, data analysis, and reporting.
· Current MSHA 24-hour or 40-hour New Miner Certification.
· Experience sampling for contaminates such as PFAS, heavy metals, volatile organic compounds
