Job Description
One of Insight Global's clients is seeking a Cloud Engineer II (CEII) to support the modernization and transformation of government-based environments through secure, scalable, and resilient cloud engineering. This role is responsible for designing, deploying, optimizing AWS infrastructure and supporting cloud migrations with a focus on security-first engineering, including the implementation of Zero Trust principles. Working within an Agile delivery model and alongside a distributed engineering team, the Cloud Engineer II helps assess requirements, develop cloud-native solutions, troubleshoot issues before they become systemic, and ensure environments meet performance, reliability, and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong problem-solving instincts and a solid understanding of the underlying code base and infrastructure lifecycle, from development through production. This is a fully remote contract to hire position with a salary range of $125,000 - $135,000. If interested, please apply!

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS Engineering, Computer Science, or Math)
- 3 + years IT experience
- 1 + year Cloud Engineering experience
- Security+ Certification or ability to obtain within a month of start
- Ability to obtain or hold Public Trust Clearance
- AWS Associate certification
- Experience with providing systems metrics, root cause analysis and proactive monitoring
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting government systems
- Experience with Linux (Red Hat is plus)
- Familiarity with Jira
