Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking an Accounting Operations Contractor to provide hands‑on support across month‑end close, expense operations, accounts payable, and financial reporting during a period of increased operational demand and process improvement. This is an execution‑focused role, ideal for a detail‑oriented accounting professional who is comfortable working across multiple systems, supporting month‑end activities, and keeping operational tasks moving forward. The contractor will partner closely with internal finance stakeholders and external vendors to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across a variety of finance‑operations workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Month‑End Close Support: Prepare and post routine journal entries; assist with accruals, prepaids, and balance‑sheet reconciliations; help assemble monthly financial packages and supporting schedules.
Expense Operations: Review and audit employee expense reports for policy compliance; resolve exceptions; coordinate corrections and approvals; support process improvements to reduce cycle time and errors.
Accounts Payable (AP): Process invoices and vendor credits; triage discrepancies; support vendor onboarding and maintenance; monitor aging and assist with payment runs to meet terms.
Financial Reporting Assistance: Compile operational data, reconcile sub‑ledgers to the GL, and contribute to timely reporting with appropriate controls and documentation.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance leadership, AP/AR, procurement, and external vendors to keep tasks moving and resolve blockers quickly.
Controls & Compliance: Uphold company policies and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP), documenting workflows and maintaining audit‑ready records.

This a fully remote position and will pay between $30-40/hour.
