A company in the Colorado Springs, CO area is looking for a Software Analyst to support the development of modeling and simulation of Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) systems. Responsibilities will include analyzing, benchmarking, validation and verification, documenting, and integrating simulation products. The SW Analyst will research technical details related to various missile defense systems to better support model creation and enhancements; analyze new capabilities, document new features, and analyze overall simulation performance. The SW Analyst will work with the product and development teams, as well as external users and customers to determine acceptance criteria for new features and capabilities; Support modeling and simulation of missile defense systems. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of space/missile warning/defense domains and the ability to look at specs on tactical systems and understanding of how to model threat situations with an
emphasis on verification and validation of models against real-world events.
This is a contract to hire for a large aerospace and defense technology company in Colorado Springs, CO.
Pay Range: $100,300 - $150,500 annually. Exact compensation will vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. - Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)
- 2-5+ years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience
- Active DoD secret level clearance or higher
- Understanding of software development and Linux platforms
- Experience with both C++ and Java source code, specifically for software performance testing & analysis
- Experience in developing tools in Python, MATLAB, or similar analysis software
- Knowledge or experience in one (or more) of the following domains: missile defense, command and control, modeling and simulation development
