Job Description

Contribute to the development of tools for assembly and characterization of
novel AR technology demonstration devices.
Prepare and review ASME Y14.5/ISO GPS compliant technical drawings.
Create new system concepts incorporating miniature optics into novel
opto-electronic devices.
Participate in activities related to design, fabrication, operation, application,
testing, and production activities in the office.
Develop procedures and documentation for alignment and assembly of
optical assemblies and sub-assemblies.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Hands-on experience using precision mechatronics for assembly and inspection of opto-mechanical systems.
Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack analysis.
Familiar with metrology tools such as:
Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) / Optical CMMs (OCMMs)
Surface metrology tools (e.g., scanning confocal microscopes, white light interferometers)
Color science and colorimetry, Image quality metrics for cameras and displays
Algorithms for digital image processing
Experienced in applying precision optical design concepts, including: Optical alignment definitions and approaches, Kinematic constraint, Athermalization, Working knowledge of statistical processing software (e.g., JMP).
Skilled in developing concepts for fixtures, calibration equipment, or production components using 3D CAD tools (e.g., CREO) to meet product requirements.
