Job Description

The State of Colorado is seeking a Mid-to-Senior level QA Automation Engineer with expertise in Cypress and JavaScript to support automated testing for a newly implemented payroll system. This role will focus on building and executing automated usability and validation tests within a secure, multi-role user interface. The ideal candidate will have experience with accessibility testing (e.g., colorblind compatibility), Microsoft DevOps pipelines, and data masking practices.

Required Skills & Experience

35+ years of experience in QA Automation, with a focus on Cypress and JavaScript
Experience with accessibility/usability testing, especially in color contrast and visual accessibility
Working knowledge of Microsoft DevOps, including Git integration and pipeline execution
Familiarity with data validation, data masking, and testing across role-based interfaces
Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and automated functional testing
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to work onsite in Colorado as needed

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Cypress and JavaScript
Conduct usability testing with a focus on accessibility, particularly for users who are colorblind
Validate screen data and interface elements using automated tools to ensure business logic is correctly applied
Test UI functionality across different user roles within the payroll system
Integrate and manage test automation scripts through Microsoft DevOps, including Git repositories and pipeline triggers
Apply data masking techniques to ensure testing of sensitive information is secure and compliant
Collaborate with developers, testers, and government stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery
Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, results, and issues
