Insight Global is looking for a RCS Modeling Engineer to join a classified program to support Missile Tracking and Prediction. The position will be based in Colorado Springs, CO at Schriever Space Force Base. This group is responsible for the development and delivery of high-fidelity threat modeling products in support of Ground Test event simulations. The missile modeling team and qualified engineer is responsible for:
Essential Functions:
- Provide understanding of Radar systems and RCS phenomenology as well as Modeling and Simulation methods and processes.
- Ability to develop Radar Cross Section signature models from specifications.
- The Radar Cross Section (RCS) Modeling and Simulation Engineer will help develop, analyze and Quality Control RCS models, produce RCS signatures, and be responsible for the verification and validation of RCS signatures.
- Effectively communicate requirements and processes to fellow engineers, system engineers, software developers.
This is a long-term opportunity working directly for the prime (contract-to-hire). Pay Range: $80-150k annually. Exact compensation will vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. - Active DoD Secret clearance.
- Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2-5+ years of related experience
- Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools and models.
- Understanding of the flight characteristics, motion, and performance of missile systems (or related)
- Experience with verification and validation of RCS simulation results (or similar; i.e RF)
- Understanding of electromagnetic energy transmission, reflection, and scattering
- Strong knowledge of Radar principles and Radar Cross Section models (or related)
- Ability to run method of moments codes.
- Experience developing FACET models from CAD.
- Understanding and experience with High Performance Computing architectures.
- Ability to reduce simulation outputs to RCS averages and scattering point representations.
