The Cybersecurity Compliance Specialist will be responsible for supporting efforts to drive toward and achieve compliance with the U.S. Coast Guards Cybersecurity Final Rule (FR). This individual will serve as a subject matter expert and project executor, ensuring alignment with the Final Rules requirements, developing appropriate cybersecurity plans, and facilitating coordination with internal stakeholders and external regulators.
This will be a contract position through the end of 2025 with strong likelihood of extensions, pay range $70-80/hour.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and apply the USCG Cybersecurity Final Rule to the organizations operations and IT/OT systems.
Conduct gap assessments against the Final Rule requirements, including assessments of existing Facility Security Plans (FSPs) and cybersecurity risk management practices.
Collaborate with facility security officers, IT, OT, legal, compliance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure cybersecurity measures are appropriately addressed and integrated.
Develop, document, and implement cybersecurity addenda to FSPs in accordance with regulatory expectations.
Assist in training personnel and raising awareness of regulatory cybersecurity obligations.

5+ years of experience in cybersecurity regulatory compliance, preferably within critical infrastructure or maritime sectors.
Strong understanding of U.S. federal cybersecurity regulations and standards (e.g., NIST, CISA guidelines, and the Maritime Transportation Security Act).
Familiarity with industrial control systems (ICS), operational technology (OT), and maritime facility operations is highly desirable.
