Job Description

The ideal candidate will lead in the planning, design, development, implementation, and execution Linux systems engineering for the client's Datacenter. Drives identification and adoption of best-in-class development. Designs, develops, and implements platform enhancements and makes recommendations for improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Haves:
Lead and manage the Linux "golden image" initiatives
Extensive UNIX/Linux engineering experience, serving as a Linux SME
Strong skills in Linux engineering, troubleshooting, testing, hardening, and performance tuning
Deep understanding of the Linux Kernel and package management (Artifactory, Satellite Server)
Proficient with RPM tools (ip, dnf, nmcli) and apt, Ubiquity, Debian installer, and UFW
Skilled in YAML, JSON, and automation/scripting (Perl, Bash, Python)
Experience with configuration management (Puppet, Chef) and Linux file-systems design and optimization
DevOps experience with Ansible, Terraform, VMware tools, and HashiCorp Vault/Packer
Familiar with CIS Workbench hardening, Linux Test Project, and TestRail
Strong problem-solving skills; proficient in creating technical schematics (Lucidchart, Visio)
GitLab experience with workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and variable settings
SAFe/Agile experience with Jira Portfolio/Jira Align for project and task management

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) Certifications
Linux Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE)


*This is an on-site role in Denver, CO. Candidate needs to be local. Not open to relocation*

Pay Rate between $50-55/hr (based on location and experience)

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
