Job Description

The Senior Accountant/ Controller is a role that involves a combination of tasks from accounting, finance, as well as treasure-related functions. The individual will report to the CEO and play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing data to inform strategic decisions, and contributing to the companys overall financial success. You will be assisting with the migration from Great Plains to Restaurant365 as they're currently in this process. You will also be responsible for the below -

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the companys financial status
Produces and manages balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses
Management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting within the organization
Assists with preparation of audits
Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances
Ensures compliance with and prepare reports according to applicable government regulations
Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports
Coordinates with and prepares reports for CFO and executive team
Assist in evaluating the financial impact of business initiatives and investments and contribute to long-term financial planning and growth strategies
Develop and maintain internal control systems to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting
Develop and implement strategies to improve financial operations overall efficiency and effectiveness

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field
4+ years of overall experience in related field
Experience working as a Senior Accountant wanting to become a Controller
Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; Access, Database, Restaurant365, or other system knowledge
Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system implementation
Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
Attention to detail
Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license
Experience with POS systems - specifically xtraCHEF by TOAST
