A government employer in the Downtown Denver area is hiring for a Data Analyst to join their team for a 6 month contract with the potential for extensions. This team is made up of other data analysts, architects, and GIS specialists. This team is responsible for processing all data requests through Power BI and Snowflake for a large customer base. This person will support the team by processing data requests, gathering business requirements, creating new dashboards, and resolving any technical issues with Power BI. The person in this role will be working closely with the Data Team as well as a variety of other staff members at different levels of the business. While helping staff members process their data requests, this person will be teaching them how to use Power BI at a basic level so they may learn how to use the tool.
3 - 5 years of professional experience with Power BI specifically resolving any technical issues and creating new dashboards.
1-3 years of experience with SQL databases and SQL scripting.
Experience accessing data using Snowflake or similar tools (AWS, Fivetran, Servicenow, Salesforce, Workday etc.)
Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical requirements through customer meetings and face to face interactions.
Experience explaining how to use Power BI to others who may have a limited understanding of the tool.
Any experience with data governance or data catalog tools like informatica
Experience in the public sector
Jira or ADO
