Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled VDI Engineer to join our team and support the design and engineering of large-scale virtual desktop environments for Kaiser Permanente, a leading healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and implementation of 8000+ virtual instances using VMware Horizon, with a focus on cost-saving solutions and improvements. The VDI Engineer will work closely with the Kaiser Permanente team to ensure the virtual desktop environment meets the organization's needs and is aligned with its vision for the future of remote work. This person must have a deep understanding of VMware Horizon and its related management components, including Universal Access Gateway, App Volumes, Vcenter, VROps, Connection, Composer, VMware Cloud Foundations, and NSX.
Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves:
* Engineer with a minimum of 5+ years engineering experience.
* Strong experience building large virtualization environments using VMWare Horizon & VMware Management infrastructure and components.
* Exposure with Virtual Image Optimization
* Understanding of cloud-scale and hybrid architectures.
* Proven record of successfully developing and launching enterprise class software.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* Experience with public cloud deployments, AWS or Azure.
* Engineering design and development experience on SaaS software.
* Strong documentation skills.
* Domain expertise in one or more of the following: Server, storage, switches, security, management system-level software, cloud services, SaaS.
