Job Description

A top hospital system and healthcare provider in San Diego is looking for an Staffing Office Coordinator to join their team. It is important to note that this role is for the PM shift, working from 3:00pm - 11:00pm PST onsite 5 days per week in a medical/hospital facility. While this is starting out as a contract, there is likelihood of extension and potential (nothing guaranteed) to earn a permanent spot, as this provider just opened up a large hospital in north county San Diego and will need more long-term support.



Some responsibilities of the Staffing Office Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

- The client has three staffing desks - this person will run one of the staffing desks for the PM shift (3pm - 11pm PT)

- Ensuring schedules are fully staffed for the 3 hospitals in San Diego county (recruiting nursing staff for vacant shifts)

- Fill immediate needs for staff shortages and/or needs based on the patient volume in each hospital

- Staffing up the hospitals on a day-to-day basis

- Backfilling shifts for staff that call out sick (taking sick calls)

- Scheduling done through KP's scheduling software in line with Union rules

- Answering calls from the nurses, CNAs, Clerks, and Unit Officers

- Requires strong written and verbal communication skills.



SHIFT:

- 3pm - 11pm PST

- 5 days per week between Sunday - Saturday

- Typically 2 consecutive days off (manager will work with employees)

- 40+ hours per week

- Schedule created 4 weeks in advance

COVID-19 vaccination (including second dose/booster) is required to be considered for this position, as this person will sit onsite at a medical facility. If this individual is eligible for a booster shot, they must have the booster prior to starting or we will not be able to move forward. Required Skills & Experience

- COVID Vaccine and booster required

- High School Diploma or equivalent

- 1+ years working in an Admin Assistant type professional role within healthcare -- Scheduling background strongly preferred

- Excellent communication and experience working cross departmentally to align/staff internal schedules
