JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Boeing Commercial Airplanes Supplier Quality organization is responsible for oversight of the suppliers QMS evaluating product quality improvement plans and driving cross functional joint efforts in the right direction. Our role responsibility is based on Federal Aviation Administration FAA Federal Aviation Regulation FAR down through the Boeing Production Certificate our QMS and our contracts with our suppliers to ensure that all of our products meet our type designs and get there with proper compliance. This position would be located in Los Angeles but would include covering all of California and Mexico as needed.

Our team members enjoy and meet the challenges of working remotely with requirements to travel up to 50 of the time. The team recognizes and appreciates the autonomy trust and judgment granted to them to ensure the committed and required oversight of our suppliers occurs. The flying public regulators the customers and our programs are all counting on us!

Position Responsibilities

Plans organize and conducts onsite audits at Boeing suppliers to assess suppliers readiness for new statement of work and or improvements to production systems in support of Boeing procurement.
Apply knowledge on transfer of work to assess supplier capability and capacity to perform and comply with Boeing specifications engineering documents or other contractual and regulatory requirements
Lead multifunctional teams to identify and mitigate risk of Suppliers noncompliance to Boeing specifications engineering documents or other contractual and regulatory requirements as well as product nonconformance.
Strong understanding of root cause and corrective action analysis and the implementation of acceptable preventive actions
Provides education and coaching on quality systems contractual requirements regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives
Develops training materials and other resources to support improvements in supplier performance and productivity
Recognize/Identify risks and hold suppliers accountable for the mitigation of those risks
Use of a personal vehicle when required for company business would be reimbursed at mileage rate per applicable company policy
Protect the Boeing brand in word and deed

Basic Qualifications Required Skill/Experience:

Engineering degree and 5 years experience conducting/leading Quality Management Systems QMS Process and Product Audits or 10 years experience conducting/leading Quality Management Systems QMS Process and Product Audits.
Working knowledge of ISO9001 AS9100 AS9102 AS9138 and AS9145.
5 years experience conducting Quality investigations Root Cause analysis and implementation and verification of Corrective Actions in production environments
Experience with contract engineering specification and drawing reviews
3 years experience managing Work Transfer projects
5 years experience with project leadership leading cross-functional teams.
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 75 of the time
Proficient in MS Office tool suite and project management software tools
Must be fluent in the English language in both written and oral.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the application of improvement methodologies such as Lean Theory of Constraints and/or Six Sigma to achieve measurable results.
Working knowledge of various quality tools and processes such as FMEA control plans SPC and MSA
Leading or co-leading control builds or process validation builds
Experience with mixed technologies - machining fabrication and assembly electronics assembly etc.
Typical Education Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education e.g. Bachelor and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience e.g. Master8 years' related work experience 14 years' related work experience etc..
