Insight Global is currently seeking Mid-Level Electrical Engineers to become part of the Engineering Maintenance and Modifications team in Long Beach, California. Electrical Engineers work with system owners to develop electrical designs and documentation. Produce electrical systems to support post production modifications - everything from McDonald Douglas MD series airplanes to the latest Boeing 777X aircraft.
This client provides commercial airline customers the engineering to modify and upgrade the avionics on their aircraft as a contracted service. Position Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs. Analyzes results and performs design reviews
Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas)
Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests). Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities
Analyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design
Collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
Verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures (e.g. DO-160 and D6 requirements), including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements
Assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance
Required Skills & Experience
5 + years of experience within wire/ wiring/ assembly/ harness design
Experience working with CATIA
Ability to assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance.
Ability to integrate hardware and software components into a functional system
Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design and packaging techniques
Knowledge of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) considerations with respect to electrical/electronic design (e.g., wire harness design, grounding and shielding design techniques, lightning protection)
