Job Description
We're looking for a hands-on Senior IT Support Engineer who enjoys solving day-to-day technical issues while helping build the systems, processes, and documentation that allow a rapidly growing organization to scale.
This role will serve as the primary point of contact for employee IT support while partnering closely with the Staff IT Systems Engineer on strategic initiatives including identity management, endpoint administration, automation, and IT operations modernization. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling support tickets, onboarding employees, troubleshooting complex issues, and rolling up their sleeves to help implement new technologies. You'll join a lean, high-impact team where your contributions will directly influence the future of IT at Obsidian.
What You'll Do
Deliver Exceptional Employee Support
• Serve as a primary resource for employee IT support requests across the organization.
• Manage and resolve support tickets related to hardware, software, access management, collaboration tools, and endpoint issues.
• Support employees through Slack, ticketing systems, and other support channels.
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated Tier 1 and Tier 2 issues efficiently and professionally.
• Maintain a high standard of customer service while operating in a fast-paced environment.
Support Identity & Access Management
• Assist with user provisioning, deprovisioning, and access requests.
• Partner with the Staff IT Systems Engineer to support the rollout and administration of Okta.
• Manage application access, group memberships, SSO integrations, and MFA enrollment.
• Help improve identity lifecycle processes and reduce manual access management tasks.
Manage Endpoints & Productivity Systems
• Administer and support a primarily Mac-based environment.
• Support JAMF administration, device enrollment, policy deployment, compliance, and troubleshooting.
• Assist with endpoint hardening, patch management, and software deployment.
• Provide ongoing support for Google Workspace and employee productivity tools.
Build Scalable IT Operations
• Create and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive IT tasks and workflows.
• Help establish repeatable onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Support asset management and inventory tracking.
• Contribute to operational projects that improve efficiency and employee experience.
Partner on Strategic IT Initiatives
• Assist with implementation of new IT systems and processes.
• Support initiatives focused on Zero Trust security, identity governance, endpoint security, and IT automation.
• Collaborate with Security, Business Systems, HR, Finance, and Engineering teams.
• Help mature internal controls and operational processes required to support enterprise customers and compliance requirements.

Required Skills & Experience
• 3-6+ years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, systems administration, or endpoint management.
• Experience supporting Mac environments in a professional setting.
• Hands-on experience with JAMF, Kandji, Intune, or other MDM platforms.
• Experience administering Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or comparable productivity platforms.
• Familiarity with identity and access management concepts including SSO, MFA, and user lifecycle management.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across operating systems, applications, networking, and endpoint devices.
• Experience supporting SaaS applications and cloud-based business systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing requests in a fast-growing environment.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with Okta administration or Okta implementation projects.
• Experience working in a cybersecurity or SaaS company.
• Familiarity with automation and scripting tools such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation.
• Exposure to ticketing platforms such as Jira Service Management, Freshservice, Zendesk, or similar.
• Understanding of Zero Trust, endpoint security, and modern identity management concepts.
• Experience supporting compliance-focused environments such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or regulated industries.
