Job Description
A large automotive company in the Bay Area has an outstanding opportunity for a results-driven Senior Structural Engineer to join their Infrastructure Engineering team for bay area locations. This individual will support the design and construction of a variety of new projects and renovations to existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities. You will be integral to the design and construction activities of multiple critical capex projects while working with internal and external stakeholders, interfacing end users, Construction Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
What You’ll Do
• Coordinate structural design on multidiscipline project teams including Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Piping/Plumbing (MEP) professionals
• Conduct structural analysis and design of concrete, steel, wood, cold-formed steel, masonry and different type of structural systems for lateral and gravity forces, along with the creation of justifying structural calculations
• Make technical assumptions, think independently to complete assigned work, and draw conclusions based on engineering judgement
• Present 30% 60% 90% design reviews to stakeholders and multi-discipline teams
• Complete field work independently or with the design team
• Provide planning estimates with limited scoping information
• Manage structural projects from estimating through construction
• Support bidding and construction admin, RFI review, Submittal and Shop drawing approvals, and response to field issues
• Direct, develop and mentor less experienced engineering staff
Pay Range for this role is $60 - $70 per hour depending on years of experience and education.

Required Skills & Experience
• Master’s Degree in Structural engineering and 5-8 years of professional experience
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in CA
• Knowledge of software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, RISA 3D, RAM Structural System,
• BIM/CAD modeling tools (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD)
• Advanced level understanding of California building code and structural design standards
• Advanced proficiency in structural design with various materials such as steel, concrete, wood, masonry, unistrut, cold-form steel, steel welding and reinforcement details of concrete
• Advanced proficiency in lateral (seismic/wind) and foundation design and related code requirement
• Advanced proficiency in design considering constructability and construction sequence for fabrication/installation
• Advanced proficiency in developing structural plans, details and supporting calculations for Permit and Construction packages including responding to Plan Check
• Seismic anchorage, structural support, and bracing for equipment, piping, conduits, ductwork, and other building utilities.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience in structural design of buildings for high-tech infrastructure, industrial, or operational facilities (automobile manufacturing, semiconductor, solar, battery, etc.) is huge plus
