Job Description
A large Gas Utility employer sitting in Southern California is looking to hire an onsite Senior Reliability Engineer II, and this person will be reporting to their Anaheim base (x4 days a week). This person will be assisting in identifying pipeline corrosion, geo-hazards, specializing in certain areas of risk and understanding pipeline corrosion. He/she will need to apply their fracture mechanics and/or metallurgy experience doing destructive testing and working with steel pipelines to better understand to what leads to a crack or corrosion. In assessing their current transmission pipelines, this person will be handling large amounts of data so applied experience with large data sets and Power BI will be applicable. In their department they look at all pipeline risk and inspection data for their territory. Initially, the work will be mostly collaborating with others and working with consultants to understand the risk models we use and how they are applied to integrity management and after getting up to speed, the expectation would be more independent analysis. He/she will need to apply problem solving skills as you might need to develop a risk model to understand where to focus and what solution to provide. This role pays between ($155-180k, with a minimum bonus of 10% - based off the individuals and company performance), depending on years of experience and qualifications.

Required Skills & Experience
- Obtained Bachelor's Degree in related Engineering field
- 5-8+ years of experience and 3-5 years minimum related to risk, reliability and threat evaluation
- Experienced in assessing gas pipeline risk, performing risk modeling and handling large data sets
- Strong experience in Power BI and Power Queries
- Ability to quantify risk data and present to leadership; Strong ability to communicate
