Job Description
An Insight Global client is seeking a Platform Engineer to support the automation, orchestration, and modernization of mission-critical infrastructure environments supporting national security initiatives. This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), DevSecOps automation, Kubernetes platform services, and CI/CD pipelines within highly secure environments.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions utilizing Ansible, GitOps principles, and declarative configuration management practices.
Design, implement, and support automated CI/CD pipelines for enterprise platform and application deployments.
Build automation to deploy, configure, validate, and maintain Kubernetes-based applications and platform services.
Support application onboarding through development, integration, testing, staging, and production environments using automated deployment workflows.
Develop and maintain GitOps processes supporting application lifecycle management and platform deployments.
Improve governance processes that support application promotion across engineering environments.
Identify gaps within existing DevSecOps workflows and implement automation solutions that increase consistency, reliability, and efficiency.
Collaborate with software development teams, platform engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and vendors to integrate applications into enterprise platforms.
Develop automation supporting configuration management, operating system configuration, platform provisioning, and infrastructure validation activities.
Troubleshoot deployment and infrastructure issues while creating long-term automation solutions that improve system resilience.
Create and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
Apply systems engineering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle to improve platform quality and reliability.

Required Skills & Experience
Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain SCI eligibility/access.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field with 10+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree with 5+ years of experience; OR 15+ years of applicable experience in lieu of a degree.
5+ years of experience developing automation using Ansible.
Experience building and supporting Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions.
Experience supporting Kubernetes environments and containerized applications.
Experience utilizing GitOps methodologies and Git-based development workflows.
Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or similar platforms.
Hands-on experience with Helm, Kubernetes, and container orchestration technologies.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with GitLab CI/CD.
Experience with ArgoCD or similar GitOps platforms.
Experience with Harbor or other OCI container registries.
Experience utilizing Terraform and/or Puppet
Experience with RKE2 or other enterprise Kubernetes distributions.
Familiarity with RMF, DISA STIGs, JSIG, DevSecOps Reference Designs, and secure software supply chain methodologies.
