Job Description

The Associate Release Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases across enterprise applications and services. This role works closely with Engineering, QA, Product, Infrastructure, Operations, and Change Management teams to ensure releases are properly documented, approved, and deployed in accordance with SDLC and change management processes.
This position is ideal for an early-career technology professional who is organized, detail-oriented, and interested in software delivery, project coordination, and IT operations.

Success looks like:
Within the first year, the Associate Release Manager will:
• Successfully coordinate production releases with minimal supervision.
• Create accurate and complete change requests.
• Ensure releases receive all required approvals before deployment.
• Support CAB reviews and deployment activities.
• Maintain accurate release documentation and reporting.
• Develop expertise in SDLC, change management, and release governance processes.
• Become a trusted coordination point between engineering, testing, operations, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities
Release Coordination
• Maintain release schedules and deployment calendars.
• Coordinate release activities across development, QA, infrastructure, and business teams.
• Track release milestones, dependencies, risks, and action items.
• Schedule release readiness and deployment meetings.
• Communicate release timelines, status updates, and implementation schedules to stakeholders.
Change Management
• Create and maintain Change Requests (RFCs) within ServiceNow or approved change management systems.
• Ensure change records contain required information including implementation plans, validation procedures, rollback plans, and deployment details.
• Track change approvals and follow up with approvers as needed.
• Partner with Change Management teams to ensure releases meet governance requirements.
Deployment Readiness
• Verify release artifacts are complete prior to deployment, including:
○ Release notes
○ Test evidence
○ Implementation plans
○ Rollback plans
○ Approval documentation
• Validate application versions and deployment packages.
• Confirm all required testing and approvals have been completed before production deployment.
CAB Support
• Prepare release documentation for Change Advisory Board (CAB) review.
• Present release schedules, deployment plans, and implementation details during CAB meetings.
• Document CAB feedback and approval outcomes.
• Coordinate follow-up activities resulting from CAB reviews.
Deployment Support
• Coordinate deployment activities during production release windows.
• Ensure appropriate technical and business resources are available during deployments.
• Monitor deployment progress and communicate status updates.
• Document deployment outcomes and issues.
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain release documentation, deployment records, and change logs.
• Produce release summaries and deployment reports.
• Track release metrics and provide status reporting to leadership.
• Support audit and compliance documentation requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, Project Management, or related field.
○ Recent graduates encouraged to apply.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Basic understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Internship or co-op experience in technology, project coordination, IT operations, or software development.
• Exposure to Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow, GitHub, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with release management, change management, or project management concepts.
Interest in software delivery, DevOps, or IT service management.
