Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a fully remote Patient Financial Counselor to support a Healthcare AI client. This is a part-time opportunity working 5–15 hours/week where candidates will leverage their financial counseling and patient access expertise to evaluate and improve AI-driven financial guidance strategies. This role is highly analytical and requires a strong understanding of insurance benefits, cost estimation, and financial assistance workflows. Laptop and equipment will be provided.

Responsibilities:
- Review patient accounts and AI-generated financial counseling recommendations across cost estimation, benefits interpretation, financial assistance eligibility, and payment plan options.
- Assess the reasoning quality and accuracy of AI-generated out-of-pocket estimates, charity care / financial assistance determinations, and patient-facing payment guidance.
- Identify cases where AI recommendations diverge from sound financial counseling practice and explain why.
- Describe the reasoning patterns behind effective financial counseling to our product team to improve AI recommendations - including how to produce reliable estimates when benefits data is incomplete or conflicting, how to recognize charity care or assistance eligibility from indirect financial and social signals, which assistance programs apply in which situations, and how to frame difficult cost conversations in a way that is both accurate and empathetic.
-Critique presentations and provide subject matter expertise to our GTM team.
