ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Outside sales of testing, inspection, and certification (TIC)
services, with a strong emphasis on developing and growing business with automotive
OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, EV manufacturers, and mobility technology companies.
This position is responsible for managing strategic accounts, many of which will fall within
the Top 100 regionally and/or nationally. A significant focus of this role will be developing
business within the automotive sector, including automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, electric
vehicle manufacturers, autonomous vehicle developers, and emerging mobility companies.
The successful candidate will possess experience selling engineering testing, inspection, and
certification services to automotive customers and understand the regulatory and
validation requirements associated with product development. Requires 5 to 7+ years of
outside sales experience in the TIC industry. This position will spend more than 50% of the
time outside of the office making sales calls and traveling to clients.
Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Sales Manager or the Sales Director, dependent upon the
structure.
Examples of Work
• Work with Sales Manager to define and develop territory to increase new and existing
sales.
• Manage strategic accounts within the Top 100 regionally.
• Develop documented account strategies targeting 20% annual growth.
• Ensure alignment of services with client needs.
• Participate in industry associations.
• Perform client research, prospecting, and networking.
• Collaborate with Marketing.
• Cross-sell Consumer Product Division services.
• Attend trade shows and client presentations.
• Maintain quotes, orders, forecasts, proposals, and CRM.
• Develop strategic sales plans targeting automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, EV
manufacturers, and mobility technology companies.
• Build relationships with engineering, validation, procurement, quality, and compliance
organizations.
• Identify opportunities across EMC, Environmental, Reliability, Battery, Safety, and
Regulatory Compliance testing.
• Position as a strategic testing partner throughout the automotive product
development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with laboratory and technical experts to develop testing solutions.
• Perform other work as required.

Required Skills & Experience
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of successful account management or outside sales experience in the TIC
industry.
• Experience selling testing and certification services to automotive OEMs, Tier 1
suppliers, EV manufacturers, or mobility companies strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success developing strategic automotive accounts.
• Knowledge of automotive compliance testing including EMC, environmental, durability,
vibration, battery, or functional safety is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Experience working with engineering, operations, and marketing teams.
• Ability to travel at least 50%.
• Valid driver's license
