Job Description
A media and entertainment client is seeking a Backend Developer (Go / GCP) to join their team! This individual will work closely with frontend engineers, QA, and cross-functional teams to support and enhance backend services following a recent migration. The role will be split between building new features and stepping into production support to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring systems remain stable and scalable. This team operates in a highly collaborative environment with shared standups and strong visibility across the organization. You will contribute to backend services supporting media and streaming workflows while helping unblock internal teams and improve overall system performance. This is a fully remote, 40-hour/week contract role aligned to US time zones.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of backend development experience with Go (Golang)
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (production support + backend services)
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, APIs (gRPC/REST), or cloud-native development
• Experience troubleshooting and supporting production systems
• Comfortable working in a small, highly collaborative team environment
• Hands-on experience (not siloed in large teams; strong ownership mentality)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with media/streaming technologies (live streaming, video processing, etc.)
• Exposure to event-driven architecture, microservices, or distributed systems
• Experience in high-scale or real-time environments
