Job Description

The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding key relationships, and managing a portfolio of strategic accounts within the industrial and critical infrastructure sector.
This role focuses on delivering surge protection, RF protection, and power quality solutions that safeguard critical systems from lightning, transients, electromagnetic interference (EMI), and power disturbances across industrial power, control, and communication networks.
The ideal candidate will operate as a trusted advisor, helping customers design and deploy solutions that ensure system uptime, signal integrity, and operational reliability across manufacturing plants, industrial facilities, and automation environments.

Key Responsibilities


Own and grow strategic relationships across:

Industrial manufacturers (process, discrete, heavy industry)
System integrators and automation partners
OEMs and engineering firms



Drive revenue by identifying and closing opportunities across:

Surge protection systems (AC, DC, and data line)
RF surge protection for industrial wireless and communication systems
Power distribution units, cabinets, and enclosure solutions
EMI/EMC filtering and power quality solutions



Position solutions that protect:

Industrial control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS)
Factory automation equipment and production lines
Industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, fieldbus systems)
Wireless and RF communication systems used in facilities



Lead complex, consultative sales cycles including:

Technical discovery and system-level requirements analysis
Solution positioning focused on uptime, reliability, and risk mitigation
Pricing strategy and contract negotiation



Partner cross-functionally with:

Engineering and product teams (custom solution development)
Operations and supply chain
Executive leadership



Collaborate with OEM partners to deliver integrated solutions across:

Power systems
Control systems and industrial communications
Facility infrastructure



Develop account strategies, pipeline forecasts, and execute against revenue targets


Stay current on industry trends including:

Industrial automation and Industry 4.0
Electrification and energy efficiency initiatives
Industrial networking and wireless connectivity
Infrastructure reliability and downtime reduction strategies

This role sits remotely in either Ohio or Illinois and pays between $125-145K + uncapped commission

5–10+ years of experience in strategic or enterprise technical sales

Ability to travel 50-75% of the time

Existing rolodex of clients in industrial/automation environments


Proven experience selling into:

Industrial, manufacturing, energy, or automation environments



Experience selling engineered or technical solutions such as:

Surge protection devices (SPD)
RF / wireless / industrial communication components
Power distribution or electrical infrastructure equipment



Demonstrated success managing:

Large, complex industrial accounts
Long-cycle, technical/consultative sales processes



Strong understanding of:

Industrial control systems (PLC, SCADA, automation environments)
Communication systems (wired + wireless industrial networks)
Impact of power disturbances and surges on equipment downtime



Ability to engage and influence:

Engineers and plant operations teams
Maintenance and reliability leaders
Procurement and executive stakeholders

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with:

Industrial networking and automation environments
RF / wireless systems in industrial settings
Surge protection, power quality, and EMI/EMC solutions



Familiarity with:

Control panel and cabinet design (NEMA enclosures, distribution systems)
Industrial communication protocols and infrastructure
Grounding, shielding, and electrical protection strategies



Background selling into:

Manufacturing, oil & gas, transportation, mining, or energy sectors
