Position Overview
The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding key relationships, and managing a portfolio of strategic accounts within the transportation infrastructure and electrification sector, with a focus on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), EV charging, and connected roadway environments.
This role focuses on delivering surge protection, RF protection, and power quality solutions that safeguard mission-critical infrastructure from lightning, transients, and electrical disturbances across power, data, and wireless communication systems.
The ideal candidate will operate as a trusted advisor, helping customers design and deploy solutions that ensure system uptime, signal integrity, and infrastructure reliability across ITS, roadway electrification, and smart mobility networks.
Key Responsibilities
Own and grow strategic relationships across:
Departments of Transportation (DOTs)
ITS integrators and contractors
EV charging network operators (CPOs)
Engineering firms and EPC partners
Drive revenue by identifying and closing opportunities across:
Surge protection systems (AC, DC, and data line)
RF surge protection for wireless and roadway communication systems
Power distribution units, cabinets, and enclosure solutions
EMI/EMC filtering and power quality solutions
Position solutions that protect:
Traffic signal systems and ITS cabinets
EV charging infrastructure and electrified roadway systems
Roadside communication equipment (cameras, sensors, VMS, controllers)
Wireless networks supporting ITS, DSRC, and 5G roadside infrastructure
Lead complex, consultative sales cycles including:
Technical discovery and solution alignment
Value positioning (uptime, reliability, regulatory compliance)
Pricing strategy and contract negotiation
Partner cross-functionally with:
Engineering and product teams
Operations and supply chain
Executive leadership
Collaborate with OEM partners to deliver integrated solutions across:
Power infrastructure
Connectivity and RF communication systems
Develop account plans, pipeline forecasts, and execute against revenue targets
Stay current on industry trends including:
Smart transportation (ITS) and connected infrastructure
EV charging and electrification initiatives (NEVI, grid integration)
Roadside communications (fiber, RF, wireless)
Infrastructure resilience and regulatory standards (e.g., DOT, BABA)
This role sits remotely in Tampa, FL and makes between 125-145K with uncapped commission

5–10+ years of experience in strategic or enterprise technical sales
Ability to travel 50-75% of the time
Existing rolodex of clients within the transportation/electrification industry
Proven experience selling into:
Transportation, ITS, electrification, utilities, or critical infrastructure markets
Experience selling engineered or technical solutions such as:
Surge protection devices (SPD)
RF / wireless / communication system components
Power distribution or electrical infrastructure equipment
Demonstrated success managing:
Large, complex accounts
Long-cycle, consultative sales processes
Strong understanding of:
Transportation infrastructure environments (ITS cabinets, roadside systems)
Communication systems (RF, wireless, fiber backhaul)
The impact of surges, lightning, and power disturbances on infrastructure uptime
Ability to influence both:
Technical stakeholders (engineers, system integrators)
Business stakeholders (procurement, program managers, executives)

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with:
ITS, traffic systems, or transportation infrastructure
EV charging or electrification infrastructure
RF / antenna / wireless systems
Surge and power protection solutions
Familiarity with:
Roadside cabinet design and protection
ITS communications (fiber + wireless hybrid networks)
EMI/EMC, grounding, and lightning protection strategies
Background selling into:
DOTs, transit authorities, infrastructure contractors, or smart city initiatives
